A cute, fun, "beach read" romance. Nothing earth-shattering, but there's nothing wrong with that! If you're in the mood for a cute romance, this fits the bill!

Bree has moved to Little Bridge Island to start over after a bad relationship (and get away from her mother). Everything is going great until a hurricane is about to hit. While all of the tourists and most of the locals evacuate, Bree can't bring herself to leave her beloved (and ailing) cat behind and has no way to take him with her, so she settles in and hunkers down.

After surviving the storm, she finds out that some of the residents escaped the island but left their pets behind. With the bridge out, and no way for the owners to get back to the animal loved ones, Bree takes it upon herself to start taking care of them. But she can't do it all herself, and the only person able and willing to help her is Drew - the man she's always found to be sexy, but knows she needs to resist because he's known as a heartbreaker, and she can't deal with another heartbreak after what she's been through.

But knowing she needs to resist and actually resisting are two different things...

I had some minor problems with this book (that I won't mention for fear of giving things away), and doesn't have a powerful storyline or well-rounded characters, but overall it was just what I wanted - a refreshing, cute romance. I look forward to reading other books in this series!

(I'm writing this review a while after reading the book, and the details are a bit hazy for me, my apologies!)
