First in a new series. Allie Cat, a pastry chef and caterer, is living in her small home town near Asheville, North Carolina. Her best friend’s wealthy aunt is killed in her book store. The premise of the story evolves around Jane Austen’s novel Pride and Prejudice.
Everything one would expect in a cozy novel is present including picturesque small town, baker, cookie recipes, cat, literary references, bookshop and hunky widowed police detective. Way too many characters to follow. The story dragged, a bit boring and very predictable. Listened on audio. Probably won’t continue with series.
