Blizzard!: The Storm That Changed America by Jim Murphy

4.0

This a great middle grade story of the blizzard of 1888 in New York City. It includes many eye-witness accounts. Some details are harsh (people die), but realistic. The story concludes with the many changes made in response to the storm such as the subway system, city-employed sanitation workers, and the formation of the National Weather Bureau- giving it a high educational value!
