Triggers: sex, violence, language, murder

A true enemies to lovers story where the MCs hated each other so passionately they often sabotaged each other's jobs and dreamt of killing one another but the sex is so good they couldn't quite bring themselves to do the final job. Was it just the sex that made them not pull the trigger or something more?

In the beginning it was a little hard to get through but the action and the spicy sex picked up very quickly which made it hard to put down! The story had plenty of twists which reveal themselves towards the end, but have no fear the author left it wide open for the sequel!

Let's talk world and character building. World building, I like enough to get me through but not over explaining and in my opinion the author walked the line on this. There was more in the beginning which is why I had a harder time starting it but eventually it evened out and began building as you went along. The character building was a slow pace as it was more learning about the past and watching old wounds heal for love to move in. I am hoping to see more character building in the next book!

As for why I gave it four stars was because of the character building. I didn't feel there was enough and there where times where these adult characters made very juvenile decisions and if it weren't for the explicit steamy sex I would question whether it was an adult or young adult. These decisions left some gaps and many questions as to why.

Aside from that I found the story fun, sexy, and fast paced. I do recommend this very sexy Sapphic read! Thus far it is on my top five favorite LGBTQ+ novels and I look forward to the next in the series!
