The Proudest Blue: A Story of Hijab and Family by Ibtihaj Muhammad

3.0

I love that this book is celebrating sisterly love and that the hijab is normalized. Lots of reviews are frustrated that the hijab isn’t explained, but that’s not this book’s purpose. This book is about a young girl excitedly and proudly watching her sister grow up. It doesn’t owe you anything more, just like Asiya doesn’t owe the bigot an education.
