The Other Miss Bridgerton
by Julia Quinn
Arrrgh matey!! Well not quite that severe of a pirate or ahem a privateer! Enter Poppy Bridgerton not entirely fond of the two seasons she’s had in society as they’ve proved fruitless. On a little leisurely travel to her friends house who is expecting her first child in a few months, Poppy ventures into the seaside and finds a hidden cave amidst her walk. Deciding to go explore, she steps inside only to have her fate decided for her. She’s kidnapped and put on the ship or rather tied to the captains bed who is no other than Andrew Rokesby. A marine in the Navy as well as a privateer for king and country. He’s on a mission to send a message to Portugal. A message he has no idea of its contents. His shock is plentiful when he finds a woman tied to his bed. His crew is weary of having a woman on board as superstition goes to show that they bring bad fortune. However we learn that is far from the case here. When he learns Poppy is the cousin of his neighbors the Bridgertons, he knows he must do all he can to make this kidnapping less scary for her. Without giving her his true identity of course. Together on the seas they begin an unlikely friendship from their similarities and ultimately a relationship. This is a great third addition in the prequel series and Andrew’s character is definitely worth a read!
