I liked it way more than I thought I would! The characters from Not in Love made such a good addition! I loved the setting, it was so vibrant and beautiful -- and made such a good summer-fling-turned-long-term read. I liked Conor and how much he cared for Maya and how he took such good care of her - from plugging in her phone to making her cum 10x sticking up to her shitty roommate, he was very sweet.
The age gap was definitely there. I wish she'd had a few more friends near her age, and I wish they hadn'tkept their not-relationship secret from real adults ... also my personal cut-off into adulthood is like 25/26, but they're both consenting adults and also book characters and thus it actually does not matter... and I loved them together anyways.
I sort of wish we'd seen a bit of Conor's POV -- I think the way Hazelwood did the MMC POV in Bride would've been perfect. Just a chapter or two, to make it really pining-y. PARTICULARLY after the scene where hedenies himself the pleasure of cumming inside of her like idk that would have been a great scene to show his POV, his burning desire for her, etc. I also just really liked him as a character, and I understand his thing is being private, but I would have loved to see more of him unraveling as he becomes more vulnerable with Maya and with his found family.
I do think Maya got a bit annoying, just with how much she kept begging for him. I was like hmmmm yeah... and I think I'm finally starting to see what people are saying when they talk about how off/weird AH's sex scenes are (I think it's just the description of body parts, for me, like... what do you mean by that... her wrist crossed his neck, HUH?) but idk I still like them... This was not as spicy as Not in Love, but I loved it still. Quite a bit of a slow-burn but with lots of sexual tension. Also sorry not sorry butfuck I loved the breeding kink yes please! Impregnate her sexy rich daddy! Have his babies! Anyways.............
Also love Tiny and Bitty <3 such a cute little storyline
