I can totally understand why some people might not like this book. Elliot is definitely annoying, but I thought his dialogue was really funny most of the time, so I didn’t mind that he’s kind of completely insufferable. It’s not a super serious book, and it plays around with a lot of familiar tropes and stereotypes, so it’s just a fun read. It was kind of disappointing the relationships between the characters didn’t really develop until the last few pages. I kept wishing for scenes where they just talked to each other and bonded, but it was mostly just snarky back and forth dialogue (which was great! just not for the whole book). Also I really like imagery and descriptions of setting and characters, so I wish there had just been a little more of that to get a better sense of the setting and what Elliot (especially) even looked like.
