Snow Like Ashes
by Sara Raasch
Snow Like Ashes started off really slowly for me. At quite a few points in the beginning I thought I was going to dnf the book, however the fact that I actually own the whole trilogy kept me going and I am glad that I did. Truthfully, it took until around 60% to get me hooked into the book (which isn't really all that great in retrospect), but once I got into the book I didn't really want it to stop.
It has a whole bunch of 'tropes' that I'm pretty a-okay with reading - others may think they're a bit predictable or not really their cup of tea, and that's all cool, however I quite enjoyed them. Meira is an enjoyable MC and I liked going along the ride with her and I kinda guessed what was going to happen at the end, but that didn't make it any less gratifying.
It has been a while since I've read a love triangle that I didn't particularly mind reading. Normally I nope right out of the situation, however this one is done quite well and I'm not too sure who she is going to end up with and I have no particular preference which is quite refreshing.
