You don't need a jerk to help when you have killer attack owls. 

 

Seriously, I wish she weren't into Silvan. The Bad Boy trope. Not a fan. I wish her latest crush was a female witch. The snarkiness and ridicule will get old after a while, and she'll dump his ass. She claims "He completes me," but she's complete without him. 

I highly recommend _Hark! A Vagrant_ (webcomic and book)--in particular my favorite: "Dude Watching with the Brontes." It never gets old. 

 

Well... now I understand why Alf's great-grandmother hates vampires. It's not racism. It's the hatred a traumatized survivor has for a homicidal psychopath.
