Christmas for One by Amanda Prowse

What better book to read at the most festive time of the year as well as being written by one of my favourite authors.

Meg hasn’t had an easy time of it, a single parent bringing up her four year old son. She works in a bakery, yep, get ready for lots of baking and food talk that will have you drooling with the wonderful images, of which is opening a branch in New York.

I’ve never been to New York but the author brings it to life and what better time to be transported there but in the lead up to Christmas. Here we get to meet the love interest of who I couldn’t help but fall ever so slightly in love with also.

Obviously the course of true love never runs smoothly and we see Meg having to deal with what life throws her way. There are some wonderful characters, from the people who took her in when she was at her lowest and the wonderful Guy who she works with at the bakery.

Christmas For One is a festive and enjoyable read that reminds us what is important in life. Whilst it may be a story with romance, this was a lot more. The relationships between Meg and the different characters were what really appealed to me. How friends can become more than just family. A story with a deeper meaning.
