This book is pretty addictive, not going to lie, and in terms of spicy books, it’s definitely one of the better written. I love how relationships and sexuality are portrayed, and how the author makes consent and choice a big focus. The “kink” scenes are also very different compared to other books I’ve read, so it’s a very original feature of the book without diving into the corny or the ridiculous.

I don’t really like the swapping perspectives between Hades and Persephone because it doesn’t really add much depth to the characters. The concept of making the Greek gods human political titles as opposed to something fantastical is interesting and makes it much different than other similar books like A Touch of Darkness, however I myself personally prefer the magic and power of the original mythical figures of Hades and Persephone so it kind of reduced the plot for me a little. Still, it was hard to put down.
