I started this in the late summer as an audiobook on Audible. It took me forever to finish because I was listening to it during commute to work and on walks with my dog, but then started to listen to Spotify more and make phone calls during those activities. As a result, I completely forgot about it. I decided to finish it up before the New Year so I could at least count it as a 2023 read book.

Me forgetting about it as an option speaks for itself. This book is a three star rating because it’s forgettable. It takes the span over like twelve hours and it’s about 100 pages longer than it needs to be. There were also about five twists in the story that were unnecessary. Some villains just need to die. Also, the villain wasn’t really believable enough for me. He wasn’t a mastermind. He wasn’t conniving or even remotely interesting as an antagonist. He was forgettable.

I give it three stars because I did love the Audible reading. I thought she was captivating and kept me influenced enough to finish the book before the end of the year.
