This was so good! I was afraid it was going to be another version of The Fault in Our Stars (don't get me wrong - it's one of my favorite books, but there have been too many copycat versions over the years), but was sooo surprised by how beautifully original this story was. Were there similarities? Yes, of course - it't two kids with cancer. But I feel like that's where the similarity ends.
I wasn't a fan of Mia 99% of the book. Yes, losing a foot is traumatizing but she was unnecessarily mean and bitchy, I would have lost my temper with her 50 pages in. That being said, character growth was impressive!
I've had this book sitting on my shelf for about a year and am glad I finally picked it up. The author is a beautiful writer, certain lines felt like poetry.
