3.5
3.5 ⭐s. The real horror is humans, and if you don't know that yet, let this absolute gem of a book remind you. Scary but not too scary (I say this with confidence as The World's Biggest Scaredycat ™️), with impeccable social commentary and some gorgeous world-building, I really don't quite know why this didn't hit home for me like like it did for other reviewers that I know and trust. Overall, a great read that I highly recommend. Just not everything I ever wanted.
Graphic: Blood, Death, and Religious bigotry
Moderate: Pedophilia, Rape, Sexual violence, Sexual assault, Racism, and Adult/minor relationship
