Theo wants to surprise her explorer Grandfather with something special for his birthday. But what to get him? She decides to take him on an adventure! Theo and her Poppa explore the town, beach, and a new restaurant together while gathering mementos to add to his memory chest.
The story was fun and I liked it much more than the illustrations. I thought the illustrations were well done and fit with the story but I just didn't care much for them. Overall, a sweet story about the adventures that can be had right in your own backyard. Great to encourage kids to explore their own communities and make special memories with family.
