I didn't love this as much as the first book. The plot was very different from The Bone Season, and it felt like everything that I enjoyed about the first book was gone. There was a lot of political maneuvering, yet it seemed like nothing was happening for most of the book. I wasn't feeling any urgency. The politics were interesting, but I felt overwhelmed by all the info dumps. Thankfully, things got a lot better in the second half. I was so glad when Warden returned! His relationship with Paige is one of the best parts of the series for me. Also, the ending was incredible and set up the next book perfectly!
