I have such a love hate relationship with painter of the night. First off I love historical BL’s but in the beginning, the love interest brutality assaults the main character. Honestly I almost dropped the whole thing but I kept reading and finished it all and the ending was very satisfying. While I can’t fully get over how toxic the relationship was in the beginning I do think there is amazing character development on the main leads part and the story is a heart wrenching classic that will always make my eyes a little watery. While it’s not for everyone, the art and character development are both top notch and I recommend it to anyone who knows what they are getting into.
