Then She Was Gone by Lisa Jewell
4.0
From the very beginning I was drawn into this story. The details that it was giving me and more importantly, the details that were left out. The last Lisa Jewell book I read, Invisible Girl, made me think that perhaps her writing style just isn’t for me. But, after reading this, the author has more than redeemed herself.
When I read a mystery or mystery thriller I usually can pick out the ending before I’m even in the middle of the book. This book however lead me in one direction that turned my amateur sleuth hat upside down. I thought I had the vibe and game fully fighter out. I read this book as an Instagram buddy read and even went to far as to fight for my theory. I was pleasantly surprised to be wrong.
This book is a book I will definitely be recommending throughout the year.
Thrill factor: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Creepy scale: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Mystery: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Pacing: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Fluff:⭐️⭐️⭐️
Character Development: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️ (this would be 5 if Laurel wasn’t so dislikable)
