Girlhood by Cat Clarke

This book both was and wasn't what I expected but the overall reading experience was very nice.

The writing style is addictive and I found the fact that we know Harper's secret right from the start instead of guessing until mid-book especially refreshing. Don't get me wrong, there are ways to do this right, but I have come to hate it when I read a book from a character's pov and I just have no idea what is actually going on in their mind.

The plot twist of the end was mostly unexpected and the epilogue was very hopeful, as the turn of events surprised me in the most pleasant way.

Overall I liked it very much and I'm glad I read it.
