I’m not sure why I put off reading this for so long, but I am SO glad I finally read this. This was absolutely delightful. I loved it.

SpoilerBest friend’s brother, forced/arranged marriage (due to being caught in a compromising position), and secret pining.


Gabriel is originally from Iran. He left Iran with his mother and moved to London. He is seen as a bit of a barbarian by London society, but his position as the son of a Sultan and his mother's marriage to an Earl gets him accepted (mostly) into the ton. He meets Drusilla through his step-sister Eva and they do not really get along. However, after a series of unfortunate (or perhaps fortunate?) events they are forced to get married to avoid causing a scandal.

Their marriage has very rocky start, as neither of them trusts the other. Drusilla's terrible communication skills were very frustrating at times (I think this was the author's intent) and Gabriel has quite the temper.

Watching them overcome their obstacles and learn to trust one another and communicate was both beautiful and delightful. The spicy scenes were also just absolutely
