2.5
3.0 out of 5 stars for the first novella
Fast, quick, and not much story. Which was what I expected. I wasn’t expecting a full plot in 78 pages. What I expected I got.
However- how is the epilogue, which takes place only 12 months after the first night ever, featuring an infant (I.e. YOUNG baby) and she’s already visibly pregnant again?? The math is not mathing, especially when they’re a period of time after giving birth that you can’t have sex.
1.5 out of 5 stars for the second novella
This is free with the book. But it needed more editing before it went live. First off Serenity and her best friend have the same name, whether on purpose or not. Second, Lucas’ last name changes every other time you see it. Also his name was Maxim at the end of the first novella. Third, Serenity’s hair color changes between her introduction in the first novella and the first sex scene in the second novella. Fourth, pushing a full on Beauty and the Beast type novel into 78 pages didn’t work. Fifth, at one point Lucas had wanted to be an Oceanographer and then next chapter Serenity says she’s the oceanographer if she can ever finish her degree. Sixth, the likelihood that she actually got pregnant after one night while being on the pill is low. But they’re both so positive it did which makes no sense. I think with editing and publishing it as a full book and not a novella would have worked better.
Overall 2.5 out of 5 stars
I wish instead of two novellas, we had one longer novella as the full 158 pages instead of two short novellas.
Also, complaint about both novellas- STOP SAYING MILK AND GIRL-C*M. It’s gross and cringy to read.
