The Club
by Ellery Lloyd
2 ⭐️⭐️
Best season to read: Summer ☀️
Risk of crying: 0/5
Synopsis: The Club is exclusive. Exclusive even by exclusivity’s standards. Some celebrities can’t even join; not without vetting and approval. There are a series of private, incredible homes available around the world for those in The Club and their use is an exclusive bonus of membership, allow the well-to-do to party hard away from risks of the press. The newest resort is opening and Island Home is throwing a 3-day launch party to celebrate. The limited guest list, increased pressure, and high stakes all come together at a head and the weekend absolutely does not go to plan.
Review: Phew. This was a tough one. I found it incredibly hard to read and was really bored. I have no idea why! This seems like the perfect recipe - exclusive guest list, celebrities, staff with secrets, secluded on an island, with mysteries and terrible outcomes for some members. However, I didn’t like any of the characters and it lost my interest often. I couldn’t wait for it to end.
It’s not the first Reeses Book Club book I didn’t like and I’m sure it won’t be the last but I’m disappointed about this one.
