Bear Necessity by James Gould-Bourn

3.0

An excellent palate cleanser after Assistant to the Villain. A quick read, got through it in two days. A little saccharine in places but also some really heartfelt reflections on grief. Seems like it would make a cute movie, and read more like a screenplay at times. Had a kind of zany feel to it. Felt low-stakes, even though some fairly serious issues were being dealt with. The end resolution felt a little pat and unsatisfying, but did fit with the overall lightness of the story. All in all, a nice fluffy read with just enough heart to make it enjoyable.
