This is a fast sequel to Fireborn, it ups the ante and Phoenix and her friends race against time to try and save Ember.

Things however aren’t as they seem, and does Phoenix have the strength to not only conquer her fear of her powers but to manage all her other fears.

We also meet some great new characters and see more magic being wielded. There are choices to be made and we see more from the side character, Five, Six and Seven. The book definitely takes a dark turn in this book with the Master making an appearance.

A great sequel to book one. The only gripe I have with the book is that it was rather long. I felt that a couple hundred pages could of been cut.

Overall and enjoyable YA read.
