3.75

The last quarter of this book was really enjoyable and upped my rating from an overall 3 to a 3.75.

The least enjoyable aspect of this book was how unbearable Vhalla was. She started out with her “woe is me, I am nothing, i am no one” persona in book one, and I was able to look over it. However, in this book, she was stating it every chance she got to the point that I just wanted to completely remove her from the story.

I have a passionate hate for self-deprecating and/or self-pitying characters ESPECIALLY when they are the main character. So she almost made me not want to finish this book, lol. But I really loved many of the side characters and the story itself was enjoyable and intriguing.

You can definitely tell where Kova got her inspo for the story (Avatar: The Last Airbender), and at times it almost feels as though Kova was a little too inspired by the show. But overall, despite the story not being all that original and the main character making me want to slam my head into a wall at regular intervals, I had a fun time reading it and it kept me entertained.
