Delirium by Lauren Oliver
4.0

Sadly, as history has proven, it doesn't take an operation to make us brainwashed tools of the state spying on each other for any departure from state-sanctioned orthodoxy. But the tension is heightened by the idea and Oliver gets a lot of mileage out of it. I found her heroine very sympathetic and believable, which can sometimes be a stumbling block with YA. 1984, told from a teenage Julia's pov.
