Ace of Spades by Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé

2.0

The omnipresent, know-it-all voice of Gossip Girl meets the Get Out underbelly of two Black characters (technically one is Black and the other is biracial) in a white, elite institution with a hint of I Know What You Did Last Summer. It sounds good, but it's executed poorly and predictably. There was no element of suspense or surprise for me. I was left underwhelmed from the character development to the plot to the overall writing. I don't get the hype.
