this is a historical novel that recounts a woman’s experience during the sarajevo siege. it was haunting, resolute and significant to today.
there were many moments of hope and love through the means of art and people, but ultimately, this was not a hopeful story. it is a truth that deals with uncertainty, loss and holding onto the ones we love most.
the only thing I have to say is that I wish the writing style had more nuance.
