The Stars Are Legion by Kameron Hurley
Did not finish book.
I won't rate this, as I DNFed it about 50% through.
I was soooo looking forward to it, but sadly it just didn't work for me personally. (I've been told by a friend who read most Hurley's books which ones might be more to my liking, so I will try again.)
I just didn't like any of the characters. And one of them constantly being horny didn't help. So many "I wanted to fuck her so much" or similar thoughts. A rather strange seduction scene didn't help matters. I was looking forward to a book with a female cast and lots of space adventure / fighting. Instead it was a lot of dialogue and infighting and just... Stuff? Maybe all the action would have come later, maybe I just had all the wrong expectations.
The plot didn't grip me either, and the mystery behind it all failed to catch my attention. After a while I noticed I was just waiting for it to be finally over, so I decided to not waste more of my time on a book that clearly just wasn't meant for me.
