lacytelles 's review for:
Molloy
by Samuel Beckett
I am admittedly not super familiar with Samuel Beckett, though I have seen Waiting for Godot. It hit me fairly early on that I was reading the work of a genius. This book is so deliciously funny and bizarre and clever.
Warning: It is fairly modern, as in the vein of James Joyce's modernism, so it does not follow a typical narrative structure. If you are ok with this untraditional flow and method, then I highly recommend this book.
It's the story of a man named Molloy, who is possibly being held prisoner in his dead mother's room. It is also the story of Moran, a man hired to track down Molloy. That's really all I can say about it, other than to reiterate my surprise at how much I loved this book.
