The Girl in the Green Silk Gown by Seanan McGuire

4.0

Hitchhiking ghost Rose Marshall is back, facing another confrontation with Bobby Cross with sass, grit, and uneasily allies. While 'Sparrow Hill Road' is more a series of vignettes, this is a single story with a strong narrative framework as Rose's blessing from Persephone is torn away and she has to journey to the Underworld to restore herself. McGuire's world-building is superb and her writing is a poignant ode to America. This book took me on a beautiful roller-coaster of emotion and I'm excited for the next installment in this series.
