The Creakers by Tom Fletcher

5.0

Rubbish... that is what her dad collects and when he disappears that is only the start of the chaos. Partially because very soon all the adults follow suit, well you can guess what carnage is started with that. Mess everywhere, children running wild... well most. Our very sensible main character is the hero of her own story but she doesn't know that yet. It is a beautifully written book in a way that adds charm to the tale. See the story as the narrator tells it with a good little commentary between each chapter that gives you a warning or a little giggle. Illustrations that are wonderfully drawn but still will give you the heeby jeebies ones in a while especially with the Creakers. I would recommend this read to all. A great tale of understanding, forgiveness and being strong when you don't know where to turn.
