Strangers in Death
by J.D. Robb
Murder harbored no bigotry, no bias.
This is the first In Death I have listened to on audio. Susan Erickson brings the characters to life and I was thrilled.
A prominent man is found dead in his bed in a most undignified manner. Eve runs into so many dead ends trying to figure out who would want to kill someone that everyone claims is a fine upstanding pillar of the community.
The characters' voices took me away as I listened to this book. The crime was very interesting and somewhat frustrating until things started to fall into place.
As always, there simply is not another character like Eve. She is a force to be reckoned with. I love that Peabody is trying so hard to emulate her yet keeps her own quirks.
This crime was dark and ugly. The suspects were varied and came from all walks of life. I must say that I had concerns about the true killer from the start. I just couldn't figure it out until Eve put some pieces together.I must say that Hitchcock is one of my favorite directors so I was pleased with the tie in
Roarke is here in all his Irish glory. Goodness! I could listen to Susan do his voice all day! I love how he supports Eve and shows his unending love for her.
This was an excellent addition to the series. Each book gets better and better for me. I can't wait to start the next one.
I highly recommend this series!
