The Last Fallen Realm by Graci Kim

4.0

Kim clearly had the full scope of this trilogy planned out from the start. The pace ramped up faster than the first but in a realistic way built on the foundation of the previous two books. Kim also subverted normal expectations of resolution to the world ending conflict as well as the death of a pivotal character. This subversion kept me reading and engaged with the narrative. While I didn't necessarily love the final resolution, it fit perfectly with everything Kim built in the narrative throughout the trilogy.
