reads almost like an episode of black mirror, where it makes you sick to your stomach but you can’t look away. excellent commentary on loneliness, cancel culture, race dynamics, and the professional rat race. I don’t think i’ve ever read such a remarkably unlikeable narrator and yet I couldn’t stop. the irony of my morbid curiosity in June’s POV, in a book about the exploitation of others’ trauma for your own gain is not lost on me. I’ll be thinking about this for a long time
