Café Con Lychee by Emery Lee
5.0
Would 100% recommend. I’ve read plenty of books with similar premises- competing businesses, sporty romance, haters to lovers etc.- but I haven’t read many (if any) queer love stories where one of the love interests isn’t white. I think any queer person of color can feel seen in this book. One thing that this genre of mimetic fiction struggles with is balancing the real and challenging parts of being queer with the joy (and writers often forget that they can create scenarios of love and acceptance). This book does really well at finding a balance. I cried at the end and would gladly read it again.
