Where do I even begin to succinctly describe my feelings about this memoir? It's gorgeous, creative, and (unfortunately, for some of us) all too relatable. Major CW for domestic violence/abuse. I myself had to take some breaks throughout. I ended up listening to the audiobook, which Carmen narrates herself, and... OOF, y'all. Her voice makes the experiences all more impactful and emotionally challenging. If you're in an okay place for darker themes, I highly recommend this read.
