Okay, so. This is the second manga I've ever read. I've seen the entire anime and decided I'd check out the manga as well. And I like it! I'm really impressed that the story, characters and tone seem to translate very well between media. I like Mori too much, y'all.
Anyway, this is gendery-wendery (and as we all know I appreciate such things). Ouran is an escape for me, as I'm sure it probably is for a lot of people. It's kind of light and fluffy -- especially this first volume, if the anime is any indication -- but I thoroughly enjoy reading it. With such an ensemble cast it would be easy for the characters to blend together, but Hatori's writing keeps them distinct, which I think is truly admirable. Someday I'll have time to read the rest of these, I'm sure!
