I can best describe this book as ”if ’straight white American woman in her 30s’ was a novel”. In other words, it did not live up to the hype. So, enjoy my list of things that bugged me:
1. The relationship was ALWAYS on his terms
2. The mc had no female friends
3. The mc had no hobbies or interests
3. The mc had the biggest white savior complex I have ever witnessed
4. The mc reffered to a block of text as ”Asian writing”. Over 2 000 languages are spoken on the continent of Asia - please be more specific
5. Rachel states that she chooses yellow for her unborn baby because she doesn’t know the gender yet, hinting toward a belief that blue is for boys and pink is for girls
