Favourite Book of May 2022
Featured in my blog's May Wrap Up.
Ravished was a pleasant surprise! The Heroine was such a nerd and so forgetful about everything except her work, creating some really funny scenes. The relationship between the main characters felt like a real partnership despite their class differences. They had absolute confidence in each other and supported each other's eccentricities (more the Hero supporting the Heroine for the latter).
The best part of Ravished was how proud, and protective the Heroine was of the Hero. It's nice to read OTT protectiveness coming from the Heroine for a change. The way she stood up for him – on many occasions – was sweet but also so fun!
The mystery and suspense were also compelling. While I still gave it a 5-star rating, I needed the author to include an extended epilogue! However, considering this book launched me on a question to read Amanda Quick's backlist (I read seven in May), Ravished was solidified as my favourite read in May.
Safety Rating: Safe
• No cheating
• No OW/OM drama
• Does have the Hero pushing the Heroine away a tiny bit
• No separation
Possible Triggers: Yes
• Discussion of Hero's ex-fiancée committing suicide while pregnant
• Death of Hero's brother
• Attempted murder
• Gun violence
• Attempted r@pe
Ending:HFN
