I can’t tell if I liked this book or not. It’s very well-written and the characters are compelling to read, even if I didn’t actually like 2 of the 3 main characters.
As I continued reading, I I started to not really like Sam or Sadie. I found myself rooting for each of them and then being disappointed in each of them, because I hoped/expected more from them as they grew as people. Marx was my favorite and I was absolutely devastated by the NPC chapter. However, even though I was frustrated by Sam and Sadie, I was compelled by how they were written.
Graphic: Domestic abuse, Gun violence, Sexual content, Medical trauma, Car accident, Death of parent, and Injury/Injury detail
