Definitely worth reading, even for those who are not interested in arts. On the facade of an artist ahead of her time, there is a vulnerable human being with flaws, trauma, insecurities and self doubt. I feel so bad for her that her romantic relationships caused so much pain. Overall what I love most about the book:
  • her account of the various spiritual experiences, which are like different alternative universes of ‘Eat, Pray, Love’ except they are extremely bittersweet
  • the detailed description/curation of her key performances. It is remarkable how seriously she takes her job
  • with her stubbornness and strong will Marina portrays a powerful feminine character, even when she doesn’t seem to advertise herself in that direction. Her love of art is so pure
