This book is much deeper than the original. It uses the structure of Four Weddings And A Funeral, but it has deep emotional resonance. Social pressures, grief, and love… it’s a really lovely book. I would say the first book, Boyfriend Material, is a traditional romance book with all the trappings, this sequel is definitely more like fiction. It’s more of a serious meditation on relationships of all kinds with some of the authors typical humor weaver in so it’s not too heavy.
