We Had to Remove This Post by Hanna Bervoets

the actual book doesnt give enough justice to its promising premise.

This is not at all horrifying or vehemently gruesome or mind-bending as people on instagram or booktok say, and I am here to express my disappointment, thank you.

This is basically just Kayleigh talking to Mr. Stitic, who addresses on the mental health issues of former Hexa employees in exchange for him to stop reaching out to her already. Here, we discover extreme guidelines thrusted into the employees of Hexa, such as giving serious warning for not scoring over 90% in segregating what post to leave up or put down. Over tricky distictions such as leaving up a post that showcases child abuse, violence and death because there's "no glorification in the caption" — imagine seeing violence in a post, take it down, and you're punished because it must've remained put up.

I didn't have any issues for the first part, but it started focusing now on the relationship of Kayleigh and Sigrid and it lacked everything gruesome already. This is no horror. Or maybe it was, but just a tad of it, then we go through romantic dilemma all the way through already.

And the ending? What was that? Did the author intend to end it in a cliffhanger because there'll be a sequel? Because if not, what the f? Were you out of drive to write already so you just ended it in a vague and nonsensical moment and just went to publish it?

Why is this book hyped up?
