The Girl Who Played with Fire by Stieg Larsson

4.0

Great Sequel !

After reading the Millennium #1 , I was so in love Lisbeth Salander that I had to continue the story !
This book did take an unexpected turn ! Woah ! I really love how the author has elaborated the plot so well and the character development is top class ! Especially of the protagonist ! The shifts between characters can be a little confusing sometimes but you get a hang of it soon enough !

STORY !

Oh ! The Millennium is obviously a series but Girl with the dragon tattoo is a good enough standalone. Nobody has to continue it. I did because of the reason stated earlier. Here, I was expecting another 'case' just like Sherlock Holmes or something like that. But I was disappointed. The author took the turn to go into character's ( protagonist) past and exploit it. A new development which had an old backstory. Good touch. I have my doubts if this story was know when the first one was written. Maybe it was. SPOILER The revelation of Lisbeth's father really left my jaw open for a while ? Like what ? NO ! You can't do that ! She had enough disturbing childhood and THAT was her father ? Oh boy ! I loved the story development, kept me into it ! But pages were ending and I just couldn't figure out how the author is going to wind it up all ? ALL the mess ! And well, to my disappointment he didn't :S > I really this was concluded ! But of course there is another book ! This was the only reason for 1 star less :S > The book was great and I am going to read the next one soon :)
