sometimes gretchen rubin makes me a little crazy, but i think that's because we're similar in some ways ("upholders!" will i ever be able to forget that descriptor for myself?!) but very different in others (i could never be an abstainer and who doesn't enjoy music!?!?) that said, she's very wise and there's a lot of good stuff here about how to adopt habits based on what will work with your personality.

unless you're a "rebel", in which case you're pretty much screwed. :)

this probably isn't fair, but i wish so many of her habits didn't have to do with food, eg when and what she eats. i guess that's what works for her and in the end restricting herself makes her happy...but people with eating disorders also feel safer when they restrict themselves. i hate to judge anyone's personal decisions about what they put in their bodies...but she spends a lot of time talking about them in the book which suggests it wasn't as easy and peaceful a decision as she claims. anyway, tangent.
