Lake Silence by Anne Bishop

4.0

If you like a continuation of the same world, then pick this book up. If you like realistic characters that think, act, and feel like you or me, then try this book. You can also pick it up besides reading the other part of the series but I would suggest reading the first book in The Other installment then this copy.

A note: WOW. A BOOK THAT TALKS ABOUT GASLIGHTING. This. This is fucking amazing! A woman that has body issues and anxiety attacks are so relatable. A win for mental illness awareness, a win for relatable life-like characters that Bishop always delivers. I think this is what keeps me coming back to her books. Her characters are real, with insecurities and issues and feelings and hope and gods so many darn things. It felt also amazing that Bishop spoke about a lot of insecurities that many others feel and I'm so glad she did.

The book: Vicki Devine is the kind of character that is kind caring and understanding. Her insecurities make her so much human and for a writer to write such a realistic character is loveable. I love the way the author explores Vicki's issues and addresses them. This is so healthy and so beautiful that I'm crying.
Thank you Anne Bishop for writing amazing characters that are so down to earth. That is just as daring and amazing as women in real life.

Some pros, I loved the rest of these series and so I had to read the last installment for now in the Others series. I love that we get a glimpse of the other side of the lake and more characters. I think besides Bishop writing if you like the series thus far it does not disappoint in pulling you into the world once more. Here we meet different characters but who are all so humanistic. From Julian to Wayne to Vicki. I can go into depth but ill leave the story to tell its self.
