“The snow may fall, but the sun also rises.”
I knew Haymitch’s story was going to depress me because of how he was in the original books but actually going along that journey with him and seeing everything that was done to him gave me a lot more sympathy for him and I just hope he found the kind of peace he was looking for eventually. He and Lenore Dove are probably up there with Katniss and Peeta for my favorite HG couple and their story absolutely broke me, if there’s an afterlife for them I really hope they get to really be together again 🥲
Seeing some more of the lore and history of Panem is always interesting but I also loved seeing how things from tbosas affected this book, and that epilogue… this was just great!!
I will say a little bit of the games felt a little rushed towards the end but I think it kind of worked or was intentional? I was a little confused about how fast everything happened but I think that was just because that’s how Haymitch felt 🤷♀️
Lastly I must say that I couldn’t read the last few pages because I was crying so much… Snow deserved so much worse than what he got.
