3.75

The last 100 pages carried this book from 3 stars to 3.75. The bulk of the book focuses on the politics of a city recovering from the oppression of a deific dictator. It was slow a lot of the time and fight scenes felt like they were added just to maintain readers interest more than add to the plot. Sanderson loves killing off the most interesting characters in this series, and insists on championing Elend as a main character, regardless of his boring personality. The romance between Elend and Vin falls flat most of the book. Thank the Lord Ruler for the existence of Sazed and Tindwyl, by far the two most interesting characters who carried the book on their shoulders. The end definitely has me wanting to jump into the next book immediately, Sanderson knows how to do cliffhangers. Don't @ me, but I was shipping Vin and Zane so so much.
